Day 118: Indian Ocean

Oh no I've lost half my Indian Ocean. Not quite sure what I've done to my charm but I'm pretty sure a few hours ago it didn't look like this. I'll taking that back to the jewelers on my day off, with the hope of it being replaced.

Day 117: Rubbish Bin

It's an exciting day today, we finally got a new rubbish bin! I know what you're think but this really is exciting because ours got stolen, yes stolen, about two months ago and the council said it'll take up to 28 day to get us a new one. Which we figured we could deal with but then 28 days came and went and still no bin then we were calling them almost once a week to follow up on it and were being told "it'll be there next week" everytime. Well I guess next week finally arrived.

Day 116: Eye Shadow

My make up/nail polish obsessed friend has been raving on about this eye shadow almost everytime I've spoken to her for a while now so I finally had a look for it and fell in love with thin one, pink gold. Some of the colours are quite intense but this one is very neutral so just adds a shimmer to your eyelids which really does last all day. Ha now I sound like a commercial.

Day 115: Fog

I guess with fog this thick and the rain we seem to be having most days summers done and dusted for Edinburgh already.

Day 114: Museum

I had a second interview today at 12 noon, but then didn't have anything else planned for my day and happened to be passing my the museum on my way to the bus so thought I'd stop in. This big guy is on the main floor as you come up the stairs. I think it was literally just called "giant stag" which I guess sums it up really especially because I'm pretty sure I'd have only come up to about the top of it's legs. Don't think I'd want to be coming across one of these in a forest anytime soon.

Day 113: Jelly's

Got this photo today from a friend apparently she wants a pair. I never had a pair as a child so can't voice an opinion on whether they're comfy or not but I am of the opinion that they probably would suit a child more than an adult. But hay, she's in New Zealand so if she buys them I won't have to see them.

Day 112: Clock

I went to The Purple Pig Cafe for lunch today, thought I go somewhere different for a change, and saw this rather fitting clock. I can't imagine this clock fitting anywhere other than a local cafe but it looks good where it is.

Day 111: RSA

I noticed today that the Royal Scottish Academy has gotten all dolled up for the festival. It's only two thirds of the way though August it's too late to actually notice right?

Day 110: Mini?

Came across this mini outside work today. To start with I couldn't work out why it looked so odd other than the fact it's obviously shorter than most minis, then I realised it's because it's actually a convertible mini. I don't know how I feel about convertible minis.

Day 109: My Sunflowers

After having admired everyone else in the streets beautiful sunflowers I thought I'd have a look how ours were doing, turns out not well at all. You can't quite see in the picture but the dead leaves in the blue pot is the other one. Oh dear!

Day 108: Ginger Grouse

I've been wanting to try alcoholic ginger beer for a while now but have never really wanted to buy it in case I didn't like it. But the bar beside the venue for a show I was going to see was the Ginger Grouse bar so my friend and I thought we'd go for it. Turns out it just tastes like regular ginger beer which I'm not sure is a good thing or a bad thing because I drank mine rather easily. And because we brought two we got a free hat, which my friend insisted I had to wear for the rest of the night and take home with me. So now it's hanging in the hallway.

Day 107: Sunflower

I think this is one of my favourite flowers and down the street from my house there are a couple of places with beautiful big ones. They're such a happy flower.

This one happens to be at the backpackers hence the iconic piece of UK beside it.

Day 106: Primer

I got some new make up, yay! I wasn't sure about getting this primer start with because in the past I've only used a liquid one whereas this is a primer stick and is a bit tacky going on but it sure does last. So I'm quite hopeful for it.

Day 105: No Crowds

I had to go out to buy somethings today so went as far away from the city centre as I could think of to do so and my oh my wasn't it wonderful to not to fight a crowd with every step I took. Thanks Gyle Centre.

Day 104: Trams

What's this? Someone might think we have trams in Edinburgh if the Council keep going around erecting shelters like this.

Day 103: Milo

Finally remembered to go and buy more Milo I ran out quite some time ago and the one I got from Sainsburys wasn't the New Zealand made one so it didn't taste quite right. I suppose it's good I don't remember to buy it all the time it's not exactly cheap over here.

Day 102: Bruschetta

I've rediscovered the fact that I actually like blue cheese so my snack of choice at the moment is blue cheese bruschetta. It's even better with basil pesto under it then grilled, mmm delicious.

Day 101: Crowds

It's only been a week but I'm already well and truly over the crowds of people everywhere. It wouldn't be soo bad if they didn't insist on taking up the whole footpath and then just randomly stopping so you can't get past them. I think I'm done with going into the city unless it's for work until the end of August now.

Day 100: Tattoo

Today was Tattoo day and by Tattoo I mean the Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo not I got a tattoo, still don't know what I want on me forever.

I'm not being biased when I say this but I think the New Zealand Army Band was the best especially with their rendition of Gangham Style. I have to say I think this was better than last years one. Everything was absolutely brilliant except for the poor wee boy at the end singing a solo who missed the high note and had us cringing, oops.

Day 99: Blisters

This is my hand. It's a bit had to see but I've got blisters originally I was blaming the weights from my favourite class at the "Pump" and I've come to realise they're actually from the rowing machine. I guess I'm just going to hard up right because I don't want to be one of those people wearing gloves and looking all professional etc at the gym. Plus as I said the other day I'm not buying anymore gym stuff.

Day 98: Ukulele's

The Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra is preforming at the Fringe Festival this year so it was at the top of my list of things to see. I've only ever heard good things about them but had never gotten around to seeing them before now, so today was the day and I have to agree with all the reviews I've heard they are terrific. I just wish the show could have been longer than an hour.

Not a great photo I know but it was the best I could do with my phone and the lighting in the room.

Day 97: Circus

I went to the circus today, not like a circus with clowns and animals but what I refer to as a people circus, not sure what the correct term is. OMG! Completely amazing! I didn't take this photo as no cameras were allowed during the show so have taken this from Google. This guy was probably one of the best parts of the show but every bit was stunning. I don't think I'll stop talking about this for awhile. This has also solidified my desire to see Cirque du Soleil.

Day 96: Gym Things

I think I'm getting a little carried away now I've brought even more things for going to the gym. Not exactly essential but really great to have. I'm going to stop buying things now, I think, maybe.

Day 95: Fireworks

Saw some of the fireworks today which close each days Tattoo performance, can't wait to actually see the Tattoo again this year. I hear the New Zealand Army Band is preforming this time.

Day 94: Aliens

The circus is setting up for the festival, looks a bit more like an alien ship has landed.

Day 93: Benedict

Stopped for breakfast on the way home from work today because I'd an Egg's Benedict craving, and boy was it good. I would have preferred a a bit more hollandaise sauce but oh well still great.
