Yay first day of my holidays today, so started the day on board the Royal Yacht Britannia with Mum and Dad. Was quite nice not as ostentatious as you'd expect for being the Royal Families old boat. I quite enjoyed myselff.

Day 56: Holiday
Yay first day of my holidays today, so started the day on board the Royal Yacht Britannia with Mum and Dad. Was quite nice not as ostentatious as you'd expect for being the Royal Families old boat. I quite enjoyed myselff.
Day 55: Mum & Dad
Mum and Dad arrived into Edinburgh yesterday just before I'd to head to work, time enough to have a cup of tea. So I got up a bit earlier than usually so we could go out for dinner before having to head to work.
Was great to have a proper catch up and some fabulous food at the Outsider. Looking forward to spending the next week and a bit with them.
Day 53: Coffee
Another fantastic coffee shop I've managed to find. Sorry this photo's a bit shit I was trying to get the machine and grinders with all the different types of coffee.

Day 52: Boutique Alcohol
I'm generally not a fan of vodka, probably a case of too much cheap stuff when I was a bit younger, but do think this sounds really quite nice. Its from a boutique shop near work which sells unique spirits and oils etc. I have to try and go by one day while it's actually open and not just be that odd person staring in liquor store windows at 08:00 in the morning.

Day 51: Macaroons
Went for a walk today in the lovely sunshine, and wondered past the cupcake shop and they had this fantastic macaroon tower in the window.
Day 50: Nails
I had another go at some nail art, with this one I painted my nails a lite purple colour then dabbed some of it off with glad wrap, then did the same with a lite pink, a lite orange and a bright pink. I quite like the effect it has and how easy it is, no need for precision helps.

Day 49: Festival Prep
It's still only June and the preparation for the Edinburgh Tattoo in August is already well under way. Still haven't decided if I'll go, I went last year but they say it's quite different each time. I do however know one thing I want to see during the festival time, see "The Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra".
Day 48: Shisha
Didn't actually get around to trying shisha while in Turkey a few years back so it was nice to get the chance and relax after a yummy dinner and Wii evening with the workmates.
Day 47: Lion Rock
I've lived in Edinburgh for a bit over a year now and have passed by this sculpture numerous times but have only just noticed it's actually a lion. Shows how oblivious I can be.
Day 46: Nautical
Essie's new summer collection too many colours to choose from. I saw them and pick each up then had to put them all down again because I couldn't make a decision. I couldn't even buy the the gift set with three small ones because I still wanted the others too.

Day 45: Bazinga
Isn't this fantastic? Maybe I should start watching Big Bang Theory again it was always good for a laugh.

Day 43: IKEA
Finally went to IKEA today. Managed not to buy anything either which was very good on my part. Well I kind of lie I did have the Swedish Meatballs for lunch so I guess that counts as buying something.

Day 42: Bleak
Unsurprisingly it's raining again on my days off. Well at least it's given me the chance to catch up with this blog which I'm been a bit slack about the last wee while, I promise I'll attempt to start updating each day.
Day 41: Nail Art?
My attempt at nail art, not exactly symmetrical but you get the jist of what I was trying to achieve. For hardly being able to paint my nails even one colour I'm quite happy with how they've turned out.

Day 39: Blurb
Was looking through the TV listings in the newspaper and came across this blurb. I'm not quite sure how appropriate this is. I thought newspapers were meant to be non biased.
Day 38: Kiwi As
Apparently my accents not "Kiwi" enough. I was speaking to an American man on the phone at work and he had worked out from my accent that I was from New Zealand but when I said "fish and chips" for him it didn't come out sounding like "fush n chups" like apparently all Kiwi's should sound. Sorry to disappoint but I promise I really am a Kiwi.

Day 37: Two Shoe
I'm really loving my new shoes. I brought them probably about a month ago now because I needed some summery shoes, my boots were getting a bit too much. I couldn't bring myself to decide between the two styles so got both, plus I quite like the concept behind TOMS.
Turns out they don't just look great they wear well. I've hardly had the flats off my feet since I brought them. I still have to wear the wedges in a wee bit being canvas and all, but I know they're just going to get more and more comfy.
Day 36: View From The Top
This is one of the amazing views I get to see most days. Can normally see all the way out to sea but the fog had settled. Still looks pretty good to me.

Day 34: 4th Birthday
Work had it's 4th birthday, so to celebrate we had a lovely BBQ in The Meadows. However at some stage during the night it turned from a civilised get together to drunken antics in nightclubs. Oh well we had some fun alright.

Day 32: Replacement Light
Last night when I was getting ready for work I noticed someone had broken the light switch in our bathroom, this morning when I got home I noticed one of my flatmates has come up with a rather large temporary fix. Let there be light!
Day 31: New Garden
My flatmate's been a busy bee on his days off over the last few weeks and now we have a lovely new front garden to enjoy. Perhaps a wee table to go with the chair and we'll be set.
Day 30: Less than Impressed
I liked P.S. I Love you when I saw the film and I have read one of her books before which was a bit odd but fine this, however, is even odder still. I'm going to preserver because it's an easy read but I really do hope it gets better.
