Day 29: First Day
Can't take credit for this cute photo, props have to go to my brothers wife. This is one of my gorgeous nieces and her dad, my brother, on the morning of her first day of school. Photo was actually taken a few months ago but I received it today and just had to share.

Day 27: Treats
I had a sweet craving so went to the supermarket thinking I'd buy some ice cream turns out I came home with a box of chocolates, oops.

Day 25: Great Gatsby
Have been excited about this film coming out. So am looking forward to seeing it this evening, can't wait.
Day 24: Broken
Not sure what happened here other than they broke. I was lying out in the sun read then I heard a cracking sound then something scratched my face turns out my sunglasses had broken. Guess that's another item to add to my shopping list.
Day 22: Handbag
Oh no there's a hole in the stitching of my handbag. Perhaps I'll have to go shopping and while I'm at it perhaps I should spend more than about £20.00 while I'm at it.

Day 21: Eyebrows
This is what I want my eyebrows to look like, except not in pink. I mayy have to take along with picture next I head to the salon.

Day 20: Nails
Please excuse the extremely average photography skills I've displayed in this this shot. However, you can still see how amazing and sparkly my nail polish is. It's one of my favourites, Leading Lady from Essie's Winter/Christmas 2012 collection. I love this one but don't wear it nearly enough because I hate taking glitter polishes off I always end up half destroying my nail beds.

Day 19: New Case
I really liked one of the girls I know cellphone case so went out and brought an almost identical one. Hers is white instead of red which looks awesome but red it much more me. I'm quite excited for it.
Day 18: Eurovision
Watched my first Eurovision. Was a good night with Spanish snacks and meal, and a few drinks. Didn't really care who won but I though some of them would have done better than they did. Guess it's all politics really though isn't it.

Day 17: 4+ Hours
Today we have my good friend Harriet, I've used a photo she'd consider acceptable as appose to taking a screen shot during our Skype chat.
Today like every time we decide to have a 'wee' catch up on Skype ended up being the two of us gossiping and having a show tell for several hours. Today however was even longer than ever before. I think that gives us a record of four and half hours now. Not that I even know what it all was we talked about.
It's times like these I miss being home and flatting with crazies who know me almost better than I know myself and vise versa.
Day 16: Spring
Finally it has happened. Spring is here in Edinburgh. I managed to sit out in the sun and read my book for a few hours today without the wind or cold weather forcing me home. Not that you can really tell but this was at the golf course in the Meadows, these boys were lucky to not be hit by stray golf balls the people who came and sat here after them, not soo lucky.

Day 15: Blossoms
Not my best photography skills, not that I have many anyhow, but these are some trees near my work which have finally realised it's meant to be Spring. Hell it's almost Summer really, if only it was 23°C, or more, and not 3°C at the moment.
Day 14: Double Decker
Double Decker streets. Victoria Terrace running along on top of Victoria Street in Old Town Edinburgh.

Day 13: Numb3rs
Thanks guy for helping get through my day stuck in bed sick, if only I didn't keep falling asleep and having to re-watch the same episodes over again.

Day 12: The Dreaded Lurgy
I think I've pretty much everything I need to try and combat this cold I seem to have caught, if only I'd remembered lemons.

Day 11: Bunting
Three of my favourite things all rolled in to one here.
Firstly jewelry, come on I am a girl after all.
Second bunting, which up till a few years ago I just thought of as nautical flags. That was until one of my nephew who was about three at the time corrected me while reading to him in front of the whole family. Since then it's brought back memories of him (little know-it-all that he is), which makes me smile whenever I see it.
Thirdly my favourite colours, blue and red and what compliments blue and red better than anything else? Well white of course.
And no I didn't buy it but am extremely tempted to go back for it.
Day 10: The Sea Side
Since it was a day off and it was kind of sunny I thought I'd head to the local beach, which I've not gotten around to doing before now. It was all well and good until the wind picked up. Nothing like sand in your month to help you enjoy a good book. So instead I went and sat in a window in the local cafe and enjoyed the sun, view and book from there, much better away from the wind.

Day 8: Waffles
Off work for four days now so there's nothing like a breakfast treat on the way home. Amazing waffles from a cafe which I consider one of the best in Edinburgh. Also had an amazing coffee.

Day 7: Home Early
I finish work at 08:15 each morning, officially speaking that is. If you knew anything about my work habits you'd know I'm always at least 10 to 15 mins early and don't usually get around to leaving till I'm about 30 mins late.
Today however I actually left early, well on time. So I got home by 08:30 and not somewhere between 09:00 and 09:30. It feels great. Perhaps I'll attempt to leave on time more often, who knows?

Day 6: Antique Film
My bad it turns out I completely lost track of which day I was up to, shows what working night shifts will do to your head.
A fantastic window display I saw in a boutique menswear store. I think this would be the type of clientele I'd want to be attracting if I was to own a menswear store.
Perhaps one day I'll marry an man as dapper as these chaps, or not, I'm more likely to marry the farmer who produced the wool the suits are made from.
Day 5: Moo Cows
I brought some frozen yoghurt pots on the way home from work and theses were the seals on them. Made me smile. I never knew cows had such diverse interests.
Day 4: Giant Spool
Oops didn't get a change to update yesterday so two posts today.
I just love this giant spool which hangs out in the Reception/Bar area at Hotel Missoni. This is just one of the amazing design features on display there. I can't walk past it without touching it.

Day 3: New Books
Quite excited for my news books which arrived in the post today. If only I didn't still have the third book of the Millennium series to read first.
Thursday, 2 May 2013
Day 2: My Canal
Whenever I feel the urge to go walking I inevitably end up at the canal behind my house, and today was no different. Late in the afternoon I felt the need to leave the house so packed my book and off I went. I spent the next four hours in a cafe, parks, a cinemas bar and finally at my canal taking in scenery and half my book. I really don't think I could live somewhere without water close by.

Day 1: Good Coffee
So I've decided to start out pretty simply with a good old cuppa coffee.
Well I say "simply with a good old cuppa coffee" but as I've found over the past 18 months of living away from New Zealand it's not soo easy to find a good cup of coffee so was quit pleased with this one, whose cup by the looks of it even features some traditional New Zealand artwork. Not the totem pole concept but the wee guy at the bottom looks just like the artwork associated with Maori (native New Zealaand folk).
